GPS

Intellitrac X1 is a GPS tracking system that is waterproof with 12 available channels. It not only tracks the vehicle, and lets you know exactly where it is, it also lets you listen to conversations in the vehicle. Say you have a teenage Son that asks to borrow the car. Well, you can spy on that little rascal with this nifty gadget. And if he gets wise, and says to himself “I’ll just unplug it, then plug it back up when I come back home…they’ll never know where I’ve been!” Well forget it. It has a battery backup that can churn along for more than 3 days when the battery is interrupted! According to the website “Other sneaky features of this device include voice wiretapping into the conversations in your vehicle, tow alarm, and even mileage report.” I don’t know about you, but all of this sounds kind of scary to me!

Ah Duct Tape. The magical tool. It’s almost as indispensable as WD40. Duct Tape is an amazing product. It can seal water pipes (sort of), secure luggage, keep people’s mouths closed for extended periods of time, and has many more uses too numerous to mention in this post. But did you know it can also act as a wallet, and secure your stuff? Well, I didn’t either until I came across this product. The duct tape wallet kit comes in regular silver, and black. Each comes with crystal clear instructions and extra decorative strips so you can totally customize your wallet. Be the first on your block to actually have a product made of duct tape that is really a durable product!

Audio & MP3

Your music collection is one of your most treasured possessions. You cherish it almost as much as you cherish your sanity. How could you possibly make it through the day without that music? Well here is a cool gadget called the Vibe Body Sound Headphones. You not only can hear your favorite tunes with these headphones, you can feel it deep in your bones. I know…you can feel the flu coming on too, but this is much more pleasant. “The Vibe Body Sound headphones clip on to your outer ear and conduct vibrations through your skin and cartilage. Those vibrations rumble through your skull directly to your inner ear where you hear them clear as a bell. All the while, your ear canal remains uncovered, allowing the sounds from the environment access as well. Carry on conversations and never skip a beat.”

Most everybody with a computer owns a USB memory stick of some kind. They are handy little devices, and easy to use. After all, you just plug them in and let them do their thing. Now you can transport your data from place to place with a VW that has sound and light! “Whether you opt for the Camper Van or the Beatle design you can pack a whopping 256MB of data into these compact Memory Sticks. And is if that wasn’t enough, when you plug them in to your USB port they will even rev their engines and flash their lights!”. Only 256MB, huh? Well that kind of puts a flat on the old tire. But, if it helps, a USB extender cable is included with the gadget.

You can purchase lots of things in a can now days. Canned ham, canned vegetables, canned dog food. The list goes on an on. Well, I wish this was a joke, but believe me, it’s not. A place in Germany now sells Cheeseburgers in a Can. What’s next? And why not? After all, we have Jalapenos on a Stick. Will McDonalds get on the bandwagon? I know…they will call it the MacCan. But I don’t think it would be on the dollar menu. It’s about six dollars for this nutritious meal. Yum Yum!

I know that in most places on this Earth it is cold right now. After all, we are in the middle of Winter. But believe it or not, it WILL heat up sooner than you think. The Desktop Air Conditioner will be a handy little gadget during those sweltering summer days that are coming. From the website: “Designed for ease of use, this little desktop air conditioner utilizes frozen water to create a personal climate-control system anyone can use. Fill the supplied bottle with water, freeze it, place it back inside the chamber and turn the power switch on and enjoy.” Cool!

I love pita’s. As a matter of fact, I love them so much, you don’t know how many times I wish I could just take one with me, in my pocket, and pull it out at any time. Wouldn’t it be cool to have a wallet that looks just like a pita? Imagine going to the Walmart checkout and pulling out that twenty dollar bill from a fresh pita pocket! I know….I have too much time on my hands. Well I don’t think that this item is for sale yet, but it is a concept that might just take off.

Remember the Universal Translator in Star TreK? It translated alien dialogs to the characters in Star Trek so that no alien was misunderstood. Well, in Iraq troops have been using iPods equipped with translators at various checkpoints to speak in Arabic to Iraqis while on mission. Because of the small size of the iPod, and its low cost, this has been very successful. It’s called communicator and it translates necessary English phrases, and also includes handy greetings and blessings, animations of hand gestures with audio, a map reader, and several other applications. And it can also connect to a loudspeaker through the line out if needed to speak to large groups. Perhaps announcing free donuts or a sale at Sears in the country’s native language. Now, the VCommunicator’s maker, Vcom3D, is planning to bring the application to the travel industry with a civilian version that will enable travelers to use similar technology to make their way around locations they are traveling in and blend deeper into the culture.

Now that HD is dead, Panasonics DMP-BD30 is already supporting the final Blu-ray profile 1.1 that supports picture-in-picture and more. In Germany the first Blu-ray Movie Disc has been announced that actually makes use of the Blu-ray PIP feature. The Sony PS3 is also supposed to get BD Profile 1.1 support this month. Picture in Picture should be available soon in the United States. It looks like others will soon jump on the bandwagon.
