I’ve never though about how you can’t listen to stereo music with one hearing aid. I guess it’s because I don’t wear one.
“Using your Epoq digital hearing aid and Oticon’s Epoq Streamer, you can wirelessly connect to your Bluetooth® enabled device like a cell phone, PC, MP3 music player and hear great quality sound in both ears. Devices can be connected as far away as 30 meters!”
It’s sort of like a tiny cordless headset. You can read more about it at the website listed below.

For those of you that only need that one cup of coffee in the morning, here is the Senseo Base HD7810. I’ll have to pass on this one, I usually need at least a couple of cups to get me going.
“The HD7810 had a very easy setup, and all that it required from the user is to fill the metal, dishwasher safe canister and add a coffee-making pod. The pods are these pre-packaged coffee-ground and filter combinations that resemble circular teabags, and they come in many flavors. Adding one more pod to the Senseo Base will increase your coffee strength to Strong, if that is what you need.”
Cost is $69.99

A group of student researchers are taking GPS one step further with an interesting idea. They are installing GPS systems on some nursing home patients walkers to help guide these elderly people around. The exact details of this study remains unclear, but the system apparently uses the GPS when the patients are out and about, and a WI-FI based system when they are inside. The system has been designed very simple to operate with five buttons and large arrows point the way to the patients destination. It is reported that one Nursing Home has been testing it for several months now.

I love those laptops with built in webcams. They are much more convenient than having to carry around that extra accessory. But most of them have the camera inserted around the top of the screen. This makes it difficult to aim the camera at anything but yourself. This mini webcam from a company called Brando has a flexible neck that you can position in almost anyway you like.
“The webcam is 100% plug and play and doesn’t require any drivers to be installed when used under Windows XP or Vista. The lens can be rotated for adjusting the focus and it’s compatible with ICQ, MSN, Skype and other chat and VOIP applications. You can get it directly from Brando for just $19.”

Here is a hi-tech “kid leash” that consists of a transmitter which you attach to your child, and a receiver which is carried by an adult. The transmitter emits a signal that is picked up by the receiver which determines how far away your child has wandered. You set a distance, and if the child wanders away greater than that distance, an alarm sounds.
“In terms of range settings the Kiddo receiver actually only has 2 options. The short range setting will alert the adult if the child has gone more than 4 meters (about 13 feet) away while the long range setting will sound the alert when a distance of 8 meters (or 26 feet) has been reached. The transmitter is also waterproof which means it’s pool and beach-friendly and can even be used at airports and on airplanes without disturbing the avionics.”

Focusing on something close can bring on motion sickness. I guess that’s why I get sick everytime I try to read in the car. They say that there is a cure for motion sickness. Just look at something into the distance. I don’t know. It doesn’t work for me. The makers of the ReliefBand say that this wristwatch like device helps with several different forms of nausea including motion sickness, and morning sickness. But their main goal is to help relieve sickness from Chemo Therapy. It is suppose to target the nerves in your wrist that are responsible for throwing up. They claim that this device gently stimulates those nerves and calms your stomach. The gadget comes with a special conductivity gel (they say don’t use anything else), that you smear on your wrist before putting the ReliefBand on. And the FDA has approved the ReliefBand for sale as a Class II Electronic Medical Device, so I would assume you have to have a prescription to obtain it.

How about a speedometer for those words per minute? This funky looking gadget not only keeps track of your typing speed, it also keeps a running total of how many words you’ve typed so far today. It plugs into your USB port. The speedometer goes up to a blazing 260 WPM. Unless you have bionic fingers, I don’t think you will type that. The world’s record is only 212 WPM. Software is included.

If your boss is constantly looking over your shoulder at work, this mouse might work for you. It has a hidden side button, that will launch a specific program, (that you choose) with a click. I think this would be very useful if you’re in the middle of that solitare game, and your supervisor walks in. Thinking quickly, you click that side button, and voila! You are staring at an Excel Spreadsheet. Cost is $19.99. Well worth the cost to save your job.

You know how Alka-Seltzers work, right? You know…as soon as you place them in water they begin to do all that fizzing? Well, the Super Mario Brothers Bath Bombs, imported from Japan, add to your bathing pleasure when you plop them into that tub of water. After you run your hot bath, drop in one of these yellow bombs in the water. The Alka-seltzer like fizzing begins, releasing a fragrant scent as it fills your bath with its yellow foam. But the best part comes after the bomb fully dissolves. What’s left is a tiny Mario figure in your tub of water. There are six figures in all including Mario, Luigi, Fire Mario, Bowzer, Goomba, and Power Mushroom.
