Most of the world has seen the first press shots of the N82 in silver. But here is a first, also. The N82 in black. Everything else about the model is the same as the silver. The N82 has a 5 MP camera, xenon flash, Carl Zeiss glass, and quad-band GSM with HSDPA data, assisted GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, FM Tuner, 3.5 mm jack, microSD slot, and 2.4 inch auto rotating display. It’s a pricey phone, $629. And HSDPA is not compatable with US frequencies.

If your office is like mine, space is limited. There never seems to be enough room on your desk for everything you need. One great space saving invention that most of us have now is that thin LCD monitor, replacing those bulky old ones. And a regular printer takes up a lot of room too. But not this one. Two new laser mice were announced by Microsoft today. The Wireless Laser Mouse 7000 and the Wireless Laser Mouse 6000. The 7000 enjoys a cordless rechargeable mouse that uses a horizontal charging station. It is powered by an AAA battery. It has 1000 dpi resolution and also one button access to flip 3D and uses the 2.4GHz wireless technology. It has a 30 foot range. The 6000 is the same, except it has a dockable transceiver like you normally find on notebook mice. Both will be available in march for $49.95 and $69.95.

The technical term for the glow-in-the-dark is “photo luminescence” this is a process in which energy absorbed by a substance is released relatively slowly in the form of light. There is a real light bulb encased in the acrylic brick with a substance that allows it to glow in the dark. It gets these properties by absorbing sunlight during the daylight hours. The effect is caused by light diffracting in the tiny space between the glass of the light bulb and the resin (substance) inside the bulb. This space forms when the resin shrinks by a tiny amount during the production process. The polished surface gives a jewel like quality to the object. Size is 3.3″ x3.3″ x5″. Bright idea!
