Researchers at the University Of California, Los Angeles have created a lollipop that fights tooth decay. “Dentistry professor and micro biologist Wenyuan Shi discovered an ingredient from licorice roots that combats a main bacterium that causes tooth decay; and this ingredient is now infused and available in a sugar-free, orange-flavored, bacteria-killing lollipop.” This root extract can kill Streptococcus mutans, a common bacteria that causes cavities. Now, if the kids like the taste, its a great idea.
