Imagine owning a car that could travel clear across the United States on one tank of gas! Too good to be true? Well, maybe not, thanks to this hybrid called the Aptera. As nations start to address energy concerns, world governments are beginning to get serious with plans to make energy efficient vehicles. In the United States, President George W. Bush signed an energy bill on December 19, 2007 that compels auto industries to make cars that average at least 35 miles per gallon by the year 2020. This vehicle beats that goal by 295 mpg, because it claims an equivalent of an astounding 330 miles per gallon of gas. Accelerated Composites (AC) is a private company which has only 15 employees. It is based in San Diego, California. Its designers are taking a big step toward a fuel efficient vehicle with the introduction of the Aptera in California later this year. If all goes well, plans are to make the vehicle available nationwide. Read all about it here:
