Thorn Micro Technologies have introduced a solid-state laptop component in the form of a micro chip sized fan, which has no moving parts, but is capable of keeping your laptop a lot cooler. Yep we know how warm laptops get after just a few minutes of use. The fan uses the same technology that is used in household air purifiers. This results in a “flow” rate three times greater than a typical small mechanical fan, and much lower power consumption. And the fan is suppose to be completely silent in operation. Right now, the Micro chip Sized Fan is only in the testing stages, but it looks promising, not only for laptops, but for the cooling of many electronic devices.
