If you remember the IOGEAR Digital Scribe, you will be pleased to know that now they have a digital version. Just as the original Scribe, the Mobile Digital Scribe comes in two parts. The pen itself, which uses ordinary ink for writing, and the USB receiver which is smaller in size, and also has a detachable mini-USB cord. And the receiver is a little bit different than the full size Digital Scribe. It now has enough memory to hold up to 50 pages text. And you can download all of your stuff back to your PC for OCR later. The mobile version of the IOGEAR Digital Scribe is about $30 more than the standard version. It seems that more and more of these digital writing devices are coming into the market these days. If you have experience with any of these gadgets, feel free to comment in the comment section below.

If you consider yourself a spy, this is a must item. Or if you would possible like to be arrested, this could be an option. The Under Door Remote Viewing Kit. That long snout looking thing is the section that is used to slide under the door. It can fit in a space less than a quarter of an inch. The field of view is 55 Degrees, which means you can see from the floor all the way up to the ceiling. And it also has a right angle adapter which allows you to view the back of the door, so you can see what type of devices like locks are installed. The system also has night vision, for those dark rooms. In order to view what is inside the room, you can use the attachable eye piece adapter, or you can attach a hand held monitor, optionally, which uses a video camera. Also available is an infrared LED emitter that boosts light levels. No pricing is available. I would think that this device could get you into a lot of trouble, if you use it illegally, or without extreme caution. There are privacy laws out there that probably prohibit devices such as these. But anyway, it is a cool gadget with some very sweet technology. So if you are sitting in your living room one night, and notice a snout-like thing sliding under your door, don’t get the pest spray. Call the police.

Golf Ball Finder Scout

ImageI would love to own one of these devices, if they work as described. The Ballfinder ScoutTM is a electronic device that locates lost golf balls. Why with this thing, I might be able to quit my day job, go to the golf course, and just find golf balls. Then resell, resell, resell. It claims to use a Proprietary digital imaging system to locate golf-balls, and works with any standard ball. It has a 3.2 MP imager that locates the balls within seconds at 35 feet when only 3 dimples are visible. The location of the ball is then displayed on an LCD screen, and a vibro-buzz confirms successful ball location. The LED lights point the direction where the ball is! Sweet!

“The Ballfinder ScoutTM will revolutionise the way you play golf by speeding up play so you spend more time making shots and less time hunting for lost balls. The fewer balls you lose, the more money you’ll save. But most importantly, you can avoid the frustration of stopping a round to search for a lost ball. Speed up pace of play and reduce the cost of replacing lost expensive brand name golf balls. Get the First EVER Golf ball finder technology in your golf bag! (Battery included).”

Music From Vocals With Microsoft’s MySong

Microsoft’s MySong software allows people that are not musically inclined to still be musicians. The software listens to a vocal melody, then automatically selects the best chords to go with the song. The software is engaged by singing into a microphone connected to your computer.

“Microsoft researchers Ian Simon, Dan Morris and Summit Basu created the MySong prototype using a Hidden Markov Model and a musical database to figure out what chords will sound best with the vocals. Once the chords are generated, singers can make adjustments to the musical style using a couple of simple sliders in the user interface.”

D-Link has introduced a new router that “supports true concurrent 80211n transmission over both 2.4GHz and 5GHz channels at the same time.” But to allow this, you’ll need a wireless chipset capable of detecting both channels, or you can buy D-Link’s DWA-160 USB adapter to take advantage of the technology. The device also has 5gigabit Ethernet ports and an OLED display. It should be available in May of 08, for a steep price of $337.

For about $16 each, you can be the proud owner of these indoor/outdoor herb gardens from a company called UncommonGoods. The pots that the gardens come in are biodegradable because they are made of renewable grain husks, which are mainly Rice Hull. Hence the name, Organic Rice Hull Herb Garden. They come included with soil and seeds to grow lemon basil, garlic chives, or parsley. So far, these are the only choices that are available. They would make a great house warming gift.

All of those people that are ditching their land-line phones for cell phones are gonna miss out on gadgets like these. Novelty phones are still alive and well. If you remember, we reported on the Hamburger Phone a while back. Here Ladies and Gentlemen, is the Dubble Bubble Phone. When you get a call, not only does the phone ring, but circus music plays, lights flash, and a gumball is released from the glass dome which then spirals down a chute to a dispenser. I use to love it when it was my Birthday. But as I grow older, it just doesn’t turn me on as much. Maybe this gadget will do the trick. The Turtle Pull-Apart Silicone Cupcake Mold. And that’s what it is. A pull-apart mold in the shape of a turtle. It is made of food-grade silicone, and is able to withstand the heat from a 500-degree oven, or the radiation from a microwave. It is immune to damage from metal utensils, and sub freezing temperatures from the freezer won’t hurt it. It is…..SUPER TURTLE! And the price is a nice $14.99.
