GPS

There are a whole bunch of GPS systems out there, but the DASH GPS is a bit different. It is suppose to be the first GPS device that is more than a GPS. It also tells you about traffic spots, and connects with your PC through the internet for quick address updates and searches. Click on the link below for a review of the product.

Energy drinks are everywhere. Each time I go to the local store, I seem to notice a new brand. Part of the marketing strategy seems to be the containers that these drinks are sold in. “Recently sighted on the shelves over at New York’s Nintendo World Store, the Red Bull-esque energy drink comes in a skinny red can featuring the likeness of the big ape himself, DK necktie and all. Loaded with ingredients like taurine, caffeine, inositol, guarana extract, panax ginseng extract, and plenty of high fructose corn syrup, it’s bound to give you an initial jolt (then a ride on the sugar crash express).” Cost is about $2.25

Well, I guess there is still a market for the stand-alone calculator. I thought everyone used their cell phone to do calculations, but I guess I was wrong. LEXON has a new one that they are selling called “The Jet Calculator”. It is made to appeal to the design-minded consumer. It is made from aluminum alloy, and comes in a silver or gold finish, and features a sliding screen display. Hence the name…Sliding Jet Calculator. Although I am not sure what JET has to do with it. The calculators will be available for about $50.

Here is a mouthful to say. The Multifunction Digital Solar Charger. It crams a lot of stuff into its plastic body. Along with the solar cells that charge various gadgets, there is an FM radio, LED Flashlight, and a UV Bank Note Checker. It’s from China, so I guess the Chinese have problems with their currency. This gadget is suppose to check to see if its the real thing. Cost is about $50.

I guess this is for all you cooking professionals out there. The DoneRight Timer is five timers in one. That means that you can have five things cooking, all at one time, and this gadget will keep track of them. The only thing I would use this for is keeping track of cooking 5 frozen dinners at one time. But then I would have to have five microwaves. It’s made of Plastic, and it features easy-to-set operation. It also has LCD displays. About $30

If you are a true GEEK this is what you need. These are curtains made out of ASCII Characters. See the curtain on the right? With the sunlight shining through it, it looks like an ordinary curtain with a beautiful siloutte of a tree. But look at the left hand picture above. The tree is actually made of ASCII Characters. They are designed by a Dutch artist genius Nieke Sybrandy. Unfortunatly, they are not yet for sale.

If you love the iPhone, but don’t like the smooth on-screen keyboard, this gadget might help. It will give you the “feel” of actually typing on a real keyboard. It is an overlay that provides tactile cues to your fingertips to help find the right key.
Do you love the iPhone, but struggle with the smooth on-screen keyboard? Personally, I’ve found it pretty easy to use, but the touchscreen definitely doesn’t offer the touch-typing feedback that you get with physical keys. This new, low cost screen overlay for the iPhone claims to provide tactile cues to your fingertips to help them find their way.
