Tiny tiny tiny. This cell phone, called the Modu Mini has reached the official status of “the lightest mobile phone in the world”. It weighs just 1.4 ounces, and measures .3 thick. And the record is official, according to the Guiness Book Of World Records. Actually, the Modu Mini Phone is a gadget that is really the core of a mobile phone, but it can act on its own. You can also put other “jackets” on the phone to expand it to things such as a gaming phone, smartphone, or music phone.

What is it? A game controller? Nope…it’s a kids camera called the Pixie CKA 00301S from Polaroid. It’s a 3 megapixel camera that comes with 8 built in games to entertain the kids.
“Kids can use either the 2.4-inch LCD to frame their shots or the two viewfinders located above the display. We think the camera looks like a mask when kids bring it up to look through the viewfinder. The pixie digital camera comes with 2x digital zoom, 16MB of internal memory and SD flash memory expansion slot. It is powered by two readily available AAA-sized batteries.”

Remember the cool video game Pole Position? It was a great arcade game back in the 80’s. It was the first full-color POV racing game, and great graphics for the time. Well, here is a Pole Position quilt that will remind you of those great times from Carolina Patchworks. It’s 110 inches X 50 inches. Big enough to keep four kids warm.

For about $85, the 2 Hour Robot Tutorial which was written by robot builder Frits Lyneborg, will show you how to build a cool Robot in one afternoon. All you’ll need are a couple of motors, a servo, some wheels, a Picaxe controller kit, an IR sensor, and a few other parts to get started. You know…those things already laying around in the house. It’s not a marvel of science, but hey, how many people can say that they built a robot in less than 2 hours? Check out this website:

It sounds almost too good to be true, but it is. An iPod Nano for under one hundred bucks. What’s the deal? You ask. Well they are refurbished units, BUT they have a 60 day warranty. Or, you can get a Nano for $129 from the Apple store with a 1 year warranty. Unfortunately the only color available is silver.

I think that we will see a lot more of these in the future. Subaru (Fuji Heavy Industries Ltd) has introduced a small car that plugs in to be made available in the United States. The car will be tested by the New York Power Authority, however tests of the Subaru R1e are currently going on in Japan and the UK. The car’s range is only 50 miles, which would be great for city use. It can reach a top speed of 60 MPH and has a quick charge option which charges the car 80% in Fifteen Minutes. Check out the Subaru site for more info.

There are many iPod docks around. Here is a pretty cool one if you are into being a DJ. The Memorex CD+G Karaoke System with Dock for iPod is a dream come true for amateur DJ’s. The player displays the lyrics directly on the unit, or it will do it on a TV via an A/V cable. While the iPod is in the dock, it will charge the unit, and power all iPod devices. The iPod can be played while docked in the machine. And the great thing is that it is only about $70.
