It sounds almost too good to be true, but it is. An iPod Nano for under one hundred bucks. What’s the deal? You ask. Well they are refurbished units, BUT they have a 60 day warranty. Or, you can get a Nano for $129 from the Apple store with a 1 year warranty. Unfortunately the only color available is silver.

There are many iPod docks around. Here is a pretty cool one if you are into being a DJ. The Memorex CD+G Karaoke System with Dock for iPod is a dream come true for amateur DJ’s. The player displays the lyrics directly on the unit, or it will do it on a TV via an A/V cable. While the iPod is in the dock, it will charge the unit, and power all iPod devices. The iPod can be played while docked in the machine. And the great thing is that it is only about $70.

When I was a kid, all of my music was on reel to reel tape. I still don’t think you can beat the sound, even with CD’s. And a lot of audiophiles, I think would agree. There is a company called The Tape Project that is now selling albums on 1/4 inch reel to reel tape. They claim that it is as close to listening to the original analog masters as you can get. Here is what they say about the project:
Master tapes are created on the Stubb-U-Sonic analog system in the Camellia mastering studio at the 1340 Mission studio complex. The mastering monitor system uses custom designed Magico loudspeakers and Bottlehead tube electronics. Running masters are made directly from session or mix tapes, mastered on an ATR Services 1? two track ATR 100 with custom de Paravicini electronics, by Grammy Award winning mastering engineer Paul Stubblebine. These 1 inch running masters are played on a 1 inch Ampex MM1200 master tape machine conversion by ATR Services, using the legendary Ampex MR-70 tube reproduction electronics custom modified by Tim de Paravicini. Your master duplicate is recorded in real time at 15 ips in two track format on 1/4? tape, on one of four tightly matched Ampex ATR 100s. During the duplicating process the tapes are constantly being monitored by an engineer, assuring that every tape is a perfect copy of the master.

Oh no…another iPod docking station. But this one is different. It’s called Sound Bubbler. While listening to your favorite music, you can enjoy a dazzling light and bubble display. And it’s compatible also with CD Players, MP3 Players, minidisks, or radio. While you are listening, the bubbles flow to the rhythm of the music. And the speakers have a built in amplifier in the base, so it’s not a real cheap tinny sound. Comes complete with iPod connector, and a DC adapter.
