Well, I guess there is still a market for the stand-alone calculator. I thought everyone used their cell phone to do calculations, but I guess I was wrong. LEXON has a new one that they are selling called “The Jet Calculator”. It is made to appeal to the design-minded consumer. It is made from aluminum alloy, and comes in a silver or gold finish, and features a sliding screen display. Hence the name…Sliding Jet Calculator. Although I am not sure what JET has to do with it. The calculators will be available for about $50.

For about $85, the 2 Hour Robot Tutorial which was written by robot builder Frits Lyneborg, will show you how to build a cool Robot in one afternoon. All you’ll need are a couple of motors, a servo, some wheels, a Picaxe controller kit, an IR sensor, and a few other parts to get started. You know…those things already laying around in the house. It’s not a marvel of science, but hey, how many people can say that they built a robot in less than 2 hours? Check out this website:

The JetBook device is a pretty cool e-book reader from a company called ECTACO ot of New York. It’s true that the device is eco-friendly. I mean, you don’t have to cut down any trees, because there is no paper there. But will it, or any other ebook reader ever take the place of a book? I don’t think so. Not in my case, anyway. There is just something about having a printed book there that I like, rather than reading type from a screen. But I guess there is a place for this, like while traveling. Here is some information from the website:
“The JetBook is an incredibly sophisticated e-book reader with a built-in MP3 player that allows users to listen to AudioBooks as well as keep up with their reading. Preloaded with translating dictionaries, you can simultaneously enjoy a good book, improve your vocabulary by looking up and translating any words you want, listen to your favorite audio files and check out photos — all in the same device! With an incredibly simple to read, large 5-inch, high-resolution display that is easy on the eyes, users can now read for hours without the eyestrain that comes from ordinary computer screens. And those with trouble reading normal-sized print books will benefit from the different fonts and sizes you can change to instantly. Weighing in at a remarkable 7 ounces, the super-slim device fits easily in the palm of your hand for a truly comfortable reading experience.”

Well, it looks like the land-line phone is alive and well. Although many are ditching them for cells, products like this one still seem to thrive. And what more could you ask for than to be able to put to your ear a pair of piercing red lips? It’s more of a work of art, than I phone I guess. It comes with UK and European telephone cables, and has a push button operation concealed in the top lip. This 22cm x 12cm x 5cm novelty phone retails for £19.99

Here is a great tool kit if you are a boating enthusiast. It’s called the XTools Toolkit, and each one of the tools, including the case is suppose to float. But if you are an experienced Captain, the need of a floating tool kit would never be needed, right? Well, you never know. And the tools are a bright green/blue. I guess that is for better visability in those polluted waters. Around $65.00 for the base kit. Yes, it’s expandable.

The Solar Motion Floodlight does not use electricity. It uses solar power to recharge its batteries, and is 50-LED, which I assume is pretty bright. The website says it is as bright as a 10w halogen bulb. Since it is based on motion detection, it will stay on your choice of 15-60 seconds. Since there are no wires, you can mount it almost anywhere without having to worry about all those wires hanging around. And the solar panel can be position up to 15 feet away from the light. It also has an automatic-off switch, and an adjustable light sensor that prevents daylight turn-on. Cost is about $50.

Owning an aquarium and keeping the fish healthy takes a lot of hard work and knowledge. Especially tropical fish. Most people are scared away from tropical fish, because it is so difficult to keep them alive. The Comfish Aquarium is controlled almost entirely from your computer. Your USB port gives power to the tanks LED lights, the water heater, and the oxygen pump. The software included controls all of this stuff through an interface that looks just like the real tank itself, on your computer screen. It’s also a room humidifier and a night light. Cost is about $50.

There are a lot of all-in-one safety emergency products out there. But this one is so today. It comes with the usual accessories. It has a radio, directional compass, a night light, a regular 15 super bright light with 20,000 MCD Led Lights, an emergency decibel siren, emergency signaling flashers…you know….just the usual stuff. And oh yes…I forgot one more thing. It also has an external speaker for your MP3 player. After all, you have to be entertained in those emergencies.

Forget the stun guns and the Tasers. This device, called The NET-2000 Shooting Net Rod fires a net at the accused villain by using a blast of highly compressed air. And it’s not just any old ordinary net. It is a huge 52 square foot net. Enough to catch a couple of crooks at a time. The material used in the net is a super strong nylon fiber. And folded up, the device looks like an ordinary flashlight. Coming soon to a Police Department Near You.

Would it be a good thing to improve the safety of your driving? Sure it would. Don’t you think you could become your insurance company’s best friend if you could improve your driving safety, and avoiding accidents? The Car Side Mirror Vision Aid with Light may help you do just that. Lets face it, most side mirrors on cars are boring. Not until recently did anyone ever think of adding anything special like lights to them. But this gadget has em. Everyone knows there is a blind spot where you might miss that car next to you while looking in the mirror. This small mirror which is attached to your original mirror has both a light which is tied into your turn signal, and is able to see that blind spot.
“The small auto side mirrors for your car have no wire, no batteries, and are self contained with small sending units that mount unobtrusively in your trunk. Your car side mirror has never been more important than it is in today’s day and age.”
Sounds good to me.
