If you love to play card games at home, this is an indispensable device. Forget about shuffling those cards by hand. Why not do it professionally? The Automatic Card Shuffler is a fool proof way to ensure that your playing cards are thoroughly shuffled the pro way. And just think, you won’t have to worry about being embarrassed when you drop them all over the floor (after a few drinks) if you use this method. All you have to do is pop one or two decks of cards into the feeding trays on either side of the automatic shuffler, press a button, and bingo! Your cards are ready to go. Cost is about $20.00.

Remember those big floppy discs that you use to wag around before cd’s and flash drives came into existence? Well this item will remind you of the good ole days every time you sit your drink down on the table. They are coasters in the shape of floppy discs made of vinyl and foam. I say that someone should invent a coaster out of a cd that you can sit a glass on, not one that you tried to burn unsuccessfully.

Kiddo Kidkeeper Proximity Alarm

Here is a hi-tech “kid leash” that consists of a transmitter which you attach to your child, and a receiver which is carried by an adult. The transmitter emits a signal that is picked up by the receiver which determines how far away your child has wandered. You set a distance, and if the child wanders away greater than that distance, an alarm sounds.

“In terms of range settings the Kiddo receiver actually only has 2 options. The short range setting will alert the adult if the child has gone more than 4 meters (about 13 feet) away while the long range setting will sound the alert when a distance of 8 meters (or 26 feet) has been reached. The transmitter is also waterproof which means it’s pool and beach-friendly and can even be used at airports and on airplanes without disturbing the avionics.”

ReliefBand Helps With Motion and Morning Sickness

Focusing on something close can bring on motion sickness. I guess that’s why I get sick everytime I try to read in the car. They say that there is a cure for motion sickness. Just look at something into the distance. I don’t know. It doesn’t work for me. The makers of the ReliefBand say that this wristwatch like device helps with several different forms of nausea including motion sickness, and morning sickness. But their main goal is to help relieve sickness from Chemo Therapy. It is suppose to target the nerves in your wrist that are responsible for throwing up. They claim that this device gently stimulates those nerves and calms your stomach. The gadget comes with a special conductivity gel (they say don’t use anything else), that you smear on your wrist before putting the ReliefBand on. And the FDA has approved the ReliefBand for sale as a Class II Electronic Medical Device, so I would assume you have to have a prescription to obtain it.

NEAT Receipts Professional Mobile Receipt and Document Scanner

Neat REceipts is a portable scanner that accurately scans receipts, documents, and business cards. And it includes software that automatically organizes your records into a database. Since it’s a scanner, you can use it for just about anything. And according to the website, the receipts are “IRS” approved. I think it’s a great idea to keep an accurate record of all your purchases and expenses, without the need to store so much paper. Just store the records via database on your computer. But I would check into that “IRS Approved” thing before I shredded those paper receipts.

Lights Out Sleep Mask

The Lights Out Sleep Mask is suppose to allow your eyes to see only pich black, no matter what the light in the room is. This is accomplished by the unique contour over the nose. The site noted below gives a really thorough review of the product.

“This mask has indispensable for daytime naps or when sleeping in barracks or tents with other people who like to stay up late. I was stationed for a couple months in Qatar and am currently stationed in Kuwait (that’s as much as I am able to tell you without breaking OPSEC). The mask is more effective and comfortable than the other ones I’ve worn. You can open your eyes no matter the time of day and think it’s the darkest time of night. It blocks the light most effectively due to the contour over the nose. With normal masks you get gaps on the sides of your nose, no matter how you try to position it or if it has a nose cut-out. When I got back from basic training five years ago I discovered I liked to take mid-afternoon naps. I found a silly sleep mask, pink with fake daisies on it. I was able to sleep, but I would wake up with my eyes all dried out. I eventually lost it and went through a basic satin sleep mask and also a silk eye mask that had little pillows attached to the bottom edge so it wouldn’t smash your eyes. Once again, though, both of them dried my eyes out something fierce. Since this mask does not press against your eyes, it allows for moisture to draw out out along your eyelashes”

Citizen Astrodea Celestial Watch

Here is a unique wristwatch, I think. It comes from Citizen, which is a fine maker of watches, and is part of their Astrodea collection. The watch gives you a view of the heavens as seen from the Northern Hemisphere and it rotates in real time. The face shows 1,109 stars and 169 cluster galaxies. (I would hate to have had the job of actually counting them from the watches face). “It also includes other measurements like equinox indications, constellation markers, location of the sun, solar position, sunrise and sunset times and the daily duration of sunshine.”

Colors are either a blue or gold face, and it has a stainless steel case. Because of the detail of the face, it also comes with a 10x magnifier. Its cost is about $585.
