Does your couch give you away that you have a cat in the house, because of its tattered edges? Everytime you look at those claw marks on the door, do you think about telling that cat to take a walk? Do your curtains have that “shredded” look?

“The people who designed the Itch Cat Scratch Pad had just that in mind. And while they were at it, they made it completely environment friendly too. Made from 100% renewable bamboo, the pads can be hung up (or placed horizontally) at strategic locations in your home to entice your kitty. The pads have removable carpet inserts that can be replaced from time to time. Sounds purrfect? Get yours from SquareCatHabitat for $50 a piece.:

My wife and I have been raising Minature Schnauzers for several years now. And my wife does all the grooming on our dogs. I know that every time she grooms one of our dogs, their nails are included in that grooming, and have to be clipped. The QuickFind Clipper has sensor technology that lets you know when your are clipping your pets nail too close to the quick, instead of waiting for that horrible howl. Plus, one of our Schnauzers is diabetic, so my wife really has to be careful when she clips that dogs nails, because of possible bleeding and infection. I’ve heard that dogs generally run around on hard surfaces enough to never actually need a nail clipping, but people who say that have never seen my dog Mojo, who runs around plenty, whose nails have. This device should help. As you put the blade against the nail, the QuickFinder will either light up green which means you can proceed, red, which is obvious, or yellow, which means be very careful. Sweet! Cost is only around $35.

If you have a problem with your pet getting on the furniture then this gadget might just help you out. It’s called the Pet Trainer. What it does is “work around the clock, even when you’re away”. All you do is place the Pet Trainer on or around any object you want your pet to avoid. Whenever it senses a vibration, a two second alarm sends your pet scurrying away. And after it scares the heck out of your pet, it resets itself, and sounds an alarm as long as motion continues. It uses one 9 volt battery, and is made of plastic. Personally, I use a rolled up newspaper. It seems to do the job. But this device can take care of business while you are away.

catflapIf you have a “catflap” this gadget might interest you. If you don’t know what those two terms mean, then go ahead and go to the next post. Seriously, catflaps are the little flaps built into the door that allow your pet to go inside and out at will. But what if your cat is in heat, and you aren’t ready for a bunch of little kittys running around? Well, this device is programable, so you can keep your cat from going outdoors at certain times of the day. “The Catflap uses RFID tags to only allow access to the flap at pre-programmed times, so you can keep a personal view on your cats social life” What are RFID tags? According to wikipedia “An RFID tag is an object that can be applied to or incorporated into a product, animal, or person for the purpose of identification using radiowaves. Some tags can be read from several meters away and beyond the line of sight of the reader.”
