Sharp has announced a new smartphone known as the Softbank 922SH. It features the quick 3G network, full QWERTY keyboard, and a large 3.5 inch screen with VGA resolution. Other features include external 1.2 OLED screen, sending and receiving email when the phone is closed, a business card scanner, and microSD slot. It will start shipping at the end of March in Japan.

The Chinese have a way with cloning gadgets. Now they have cloned a Black 8 GB Nokia N95 that is on sale in the Philippines for only $161.35. The phone has twin cameras (why, I am not sure), dual slide out for the music player and keypad, MicroSD, MP3/4 Compatable, and of course, Bluetooth. Electronics keep getting thinner and thinner, especially cell phones. Samsung claims to have the slimmest CMOS camera module of its kind, just 8.5 mm thick. What that means is that camera phones will be able to be much thinner than even now, since the camera’s “guts” are thinner. It comes in a 8 and 5 MegaPixel model, and should be available sometimes later this year. And it has a lot of other features such as anti shake, a 1-cm macro, and face tracking technology.
