The BladeRunner MP3 Player looks a lot like a cellphone to me. It has an 1.8 TFT screen, and only 2GB of storage. An FM Radio is included, as is a built in speaker on the back of the device. It also supports voice recording, and all of the popular file formats. The only thing I would be worried about if I owned one of these is that I would pull it out of my pocket, and try to dial a number. But it’s a pretty red! MP3 Players are really going down in price. This one sells for about $49.99.

I think the electronics people in Japan really have this thing about Hello Kitty Products. They say that in Japan so many people use their cellphones for so many hours, there are actually public chargers available. But most people just don’t have the time or patience to leave their phone recharging even for a couple of minutes. This is one reason why we are starting to see Mini Battery Chargers for cellphones. Believe it or not, many people are known to own multiple phone lines with different SIM’s, when it comes to mobile phones. The Samsung SGH-D880 handles multiple SIM cards. “With the SGH-D880, users are able to receive calls and text messages from either SIM network at anyone time. However, data connections can only be initiated through the designated primary SIM card. Now if you are an iPhone owner, you won’t feel left out. AT&T now has a plan for the iPhone that is unlimited. The only problem I see with the chart above is the crappy amount of SMS Text Messages that the plan offers. And this could be a real concern, with the way Text Messaging seems to be increasing in price.

I have yet to find a Bluetooth Stereo Headset that I really like. Perhaps this is the one. Capella is introducing a necklace-type Bluetooth Stereo Headset known as Capella UIBS-700. The headset features an auto switching function as well as hands-free support, so you can concentrate on the traffic ahead, instead of fumbling around for your device. It also has a speaker phone function, an LCD display, USB charging, 8 hours of playback time, and 200 hours of standby time. Cost was unavailable as of this post.

The Palm Centro now has GSM and is available on the ATT website. Sprint had the sole rights, for a time, but those rights have expired. “Unlike Sprint’s version, the GSM Centro tops out with EDGE data for a moderately less snappy browsing experience; otherwise, though, your $99 on contract is going to buy you a 1.3 megapixel camera, microSD slot, Bluetooth 1.2, support for AT&T’s push-to-talk service, and a full (albeit miniaturized) QWERTY keypad.”

A company called Bellperre is releasing a new cell phone that does not have any plastic parts. All the phone’s parts consist of premium leather, steel, gold, hardwood, and other materials. There are over 200 colors of leather to choose from, and different types, including crocodile, shark, buffalo, and regular old cow. And the metal casings for the cell phones include aircraft aluminum and 18K Rose Gold. The Bellperre phones will be available in Europe June 2008.
