Starting this Friday, February 22, AT&T follows Verizon’s recent announcement by offering an unlimited talk plan for $99.99 per month. But as I said, this is a talk all you want only plan. Data and messaging will still require an additional package. The plan will be available to both new and existing customers. Month to month is available with no contract extension necessary. Both plans are close in comparison when it comes to cost.

I’m not to sure if it’s a good idea to combine a cell phone and a watch. Reminds me too much of those old Dick Tracy comic books. But, the technology is here, like it or not. The Epoq Quad-Band GSM Unlocked Watch Phone has some pretty cool features. “New and in demand features include 50M water resistance, large analog and digital energy saving OLED display that finally looks like a watch, not a box on a wrist strap, and with a further lean towards “green” eco-efficiency, it has a built in kinetic recharge system that converts the wearers motion to energy to recharge the two included interchangeable Li-ion batteries.”
Should be available sometimes next month.

Here is a cool little gadget that will really come in handy. The PhoneTrip HandsFree Car Device is a nifty little device that easily, and without any wires, allows you to transmit your mobile phone calls through the car’s stereo speakers.
* Incredibly easy to use
* No Wires-No Plugs
* No Installation
* Fits every cell phone
* Works with every radio
* Transmits clear sound through your car speakers
* Comes with a magnetic mobile phone holder as standard
It uses an FM transmitter to transmit the audio.
Most cell phones have their memory stored in flash-based memory cards such as SDMicro and SDMini. There is a company called Spice from India that offers a handset that comes with an integrated optical disc drive, where each optical disc has enough space to store 2.5 hours of video. That means you can watch those full length movies right on the phone, with the help of the disc drive, and not flash memory. Currently, there are only a limited number of titles available.

Is it just me, or do these seem a little expensive? I mean, three digits?

Elan Form’s two piece shell snaps snug around your iPhone. It is made of top-grain leather and hard-shell polycarbonate (plastic, I think), to give two layers of protection for your phone. Personally, I like the cork (one on the right)
“Top-grain leather outer shell crafted from hand-matched hides
Protective polycarbonate inner shell surrounds and shields your iPhone
Easy access to multi-touch display, ports and controls
Includes static peel screen protector and premium cleaning cloth
Easy installation: just put your iPhone in the top casing then snapthe back into place. To open the case, insert a coin into the notch in the bottom corner and gently twist. “
Pretty nice.
When you think about a mobile phone, Philips is not usually a name brand that comes to mind. But they are in the mobile phone business with a vengeance now, with the Philips Xenium line. The cool thing about these phones is there amazing battery life. They can last for up to two months on standby, and up to 17 hours of constant talk time! Otherwise the Philips Xenium 99k is a basic and well designed 108×48×14 mm, tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900)/GPRS phone with 65K color TFT display, VGA camera, microSD memory card slot and Bluetooth.
The Samsung MBP-100 mini projector shows off your cellphone or portable media images with a 20-inch display. It is not available yet in the United States, but is suppose to hit South Korea in March, and go worldwide soon after that. It is literally a cigarette case size mobile projector. Soon, you won’t have to have a crowd of people huddled around that tiny screen of your cellphone when you are trying to show off pictures of your kids or grandkids at the office. Pricing or picture quality is not certain. When I find a review of this product, I will post it here.

The ad for the new BlackBerry Pearl asks “Are you confident enough to wear pink?” BlackBerry has improved on the basic model with the 8130, which is pink, and features an improved camera (2.0 megapixels), video capabilities, full email and web browsing, a music player (player reads MP3, WMA, and AAC files and displays album art), Bluetooth, AND an expandable memory (up to 8GB.) Like it’s predecessor, it features SureType QWERTY keyboard technology. It also has an advanced feature called the VZ Navigator, which provides heads-up, voice-prompted, turn-by-turn directions (with “auto-rerouting” if you miss a turn), local search of nearly fourteen million points of interest (POIs) in the U.S., and detailed color maps that can be quickly panned and zoomed. And it uses 3G data speeds. It’s only available from Verizon.
