Seven Inch LCD Monitor
30. April, 2008
Here is a 7 inch display that will attach to the back of your Wii, so that you can do all of your gaming close up. The website says this would be great for the car. “As you can see in the photo the LCD attaches to the back of the Wii console with a rather large connector that makes the whole unit about an inch longer. It includes cloned versions of all the ports on the back of the Wii that end up getting blocked, and even adds an extra set for connecting an additional AV device to the screen. I like that the screen is attached via a ball and socket joint so that it can be pivoted and rotated around as needed, however, I’m not sure if the screen has an integrated Wii sensor bar. If it doesn’t, where are you supposed to mount one?” Cost is about $100.

Hand cranked devices seem to be coming on the scene more and more these days. It seems that almost everyone I know has tried one of these things. Except me. Every time I go to my local Big Lot Store, I think about buying one of these things. Perhaps this weekend I will. Here is another one of those crank machines that you don’t have to worry about batteries with. The Mini Dynamo Crank is suppose to be the world smallest Dynamo Flashlight. This sleek little piece measures just 1.9″ x 3.1″ x 1″ yet packs a powerful hand crank dynamo and three super bright LED lights. And it’s the perfect size for a glovebox, purse, or kitchen drawer. Will never need batteries or replacement bulbs. Rubberized comfort grip with tether strap. It comes in Pink, Green or Black.
SkullCandy is a connoisseur when it comes to making headphones and bags that are hip but very techie. Their latest LINK Hydro Pack is a neat backpack that uses their LINK technology that lets users listen to music while making phone calls through headphones or speakers located right on the straps of the backpack. The pack also promises to be a great outdoor accessory that is designed for 3 seasons and it has convenient access to H20 via its straps, because we are all way too lazy for our own good. The Link Hydro Pack retails for $149.95 and is available in grey/orange or camp. For those of you who are more of a pink bag type, check out the somewhat similar Link Fashion Pack - however it’s not as rugged and doesn’t let you sip and go.
Have you ever woke up in the morning with the alarm clock screaming, and the first thing you want to do is to throw the thing? Well then, you need some anger management classes. But seriously, if you are inclined to do such a thing, here is the Throw Alarm Clock. It’s a special type of clock which wants you to bounce it or throw it. Otherwise, it won’t switch off. What it is is a cushioned ball with an LCD display that has all the features of a regular alarm clock like time, date, and an hourly chime, not to mention the alarm. There are several ball shapes available such as cricket, golf, and football (soccer to you American readers). Cost is about $20.
The Mercury-On-The-Go from OWC is a somewhat tempting three-way connectible 500GB portable HDD. Component-wise there are no surprises, under the hood is a 2.5? 5400 RPM Hitachi Travelstar 5K500 with an 8MB cache. With Firewire 400/800 and USB 2.0 you get three-way connectivity and bus power.
